BIO

Katie recently moved to Connecticut with her fiancé Chris and dog Maggie. She earned her bachelor’s degree as well as her doctor of physical therapy degree from the University of Cincinnati. While in college, she competed for the varsity swim team and served as captain her senior year. Throughout PT school, Katie enjoyed staying involved with the program as class representative, she served on the OPTA Student Special Interest Group board, and acted as the Southwest District Student Liaison.

Throughout her career as a physical therapist, Katie has specialized in outpatient private practice, treating patients of all ages and abilities. She has spent time expanding her knowledge base as a Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) certified exercise trainer, and has trained in dry needling technique. Combined with her Pilates Instructor certification, this has allowed Katie to build an expertise in assisting patients in building strength, stability and mobility through their core.

As Katie continued her career, she found how critical it is to look at patients as a whole person and assess all possible contributing factors to their pain. This brought her to achieving her certification as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, and she incorporates this approach with every person to help them achieve their best health outcomes.

When she is not working as a physical therapist and Pilates instructor, Katie enjoys volunteering her time through organizations such as the Special Olympics swim team as well as coaching swimming. She stays active through running, spinning, weight and resistance training, and loves spending time outdoors on walks and hikes with her dog.
