Agnieszka Tachkov, PTA

Agnieszka earned her AAS degree in Applied and Natural Sciences from CUNY at LaGuardia Community College, graduating with honors from the Physical Therapist Assistant Program in 1994. She was recognized with the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award for her exceptional performance.

With nearly 25 years of clinical experience, Agnieszka has worked in a variety of settings, delivering skilled physical therapy across diverse patient populations:

  •  Sub-Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation: Extensive experience providing one-on-one therapy for orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and stroke patients, focusing on restoring function and improving quality of life.
  • Outpatient Physical Therapy: Skilled in delivering clinic-based and aquatic physical therapy for outpatient clientele and the community. She also co-developed two community-based programs—Back School Education & Training and Modified Pilates—to promote injury prevention and functional movement.
  • Skilled Nursing Facility: Well-versed in geriatric rehabilitation, providing tailored therapy to enhance mobility, strength, and independence in aging populations.
  • Private Practice and Aquatic Therapy: Strong background in one-on-one outpatient physical therapy within a Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine clinic. Additionally, she played a key role in developing, designing, and implementing an Aquatic Therapy program in another private practice, where she also collaborated closely with staff members to provide comprehensive patient care.

In November 2023, Agnieszka published an article in the Examiner newspaper discussing the hydrodynamic properties of water and its therapeutic applications in rehabilitation.

A dual citizen of Poland and the USA, Agnieszka has lived in the United States since 1987 and has called Westchester County home for nearly 30 years. She enjoys cooking, reading, and outdoor activities such as gardening, biking, and skiing. She is also a proud mother of two adult sons.

Agnieszka is excited to be part of the EHS Physical Therapy and Wellness team and is dedicated to promoting a holistic approach to health and functional mobility. She emphasizes independence and active participation in each client’s health journey through personalized programs that enhance overall well-being.
