Sarah Nolan, MSPT, CFMT
Functional Manual Physical Therapist, Performing Arts Specialist
BIO
Sarah Nolan graduated from Ithaca College in 2004 with a Masters of Science and has focused on orthopedic rehabilitation from her early days in practice. She has a passion for helping patients reach their full potential and achieve their personal goals. Her treatment style is grounded on identifying movement dysfunction and restoring and maximizing functional efficiency.
Sarah became a Certified Functional Manual Therapist in 2011, completing an intensive certification process with distinction. She is honored to now be a primary faculty member of the Institute of Physical Art, sharing her enthusiasm of the Dynamic Foot and Ankle and Core First Strategies with fellow therapists around the country.
A former dancer, her love for the performing arts carried over into this profession. She spent 15 years serving the New York dance and theater community on a preventative, performance enhancement and rehabilitative basis. She began her career as the primary physical therapist for Disney’s The Lion King, both the first national tour and on Broadway. Following that, as a member of an elite team of therapists at PhysioArts in New York City, she provided services to the companies of some of the largest shows on Broadway, as well as to members of esteemed dance companies. She is proud to have been mentored by Elite’s own Jenni Green.
Sarah has thoroughly enjoyed treating professional and recreational runners throughout the years and recently completed her first half marathon. She also completed a certification through the Hospital for Special Surgery for the treatment of overhead athletes in 2021. Outside of the clinic, she can be found keeping up with her three little boys at sports fields, art studios and playgrounds around the tri-state area.
